The Black Talent Pool

I'm Angela Tennison, founder of The Black Talent Pool. I worked in The White House for President Barack Obama, I've been a leader at C-Suite level and I'm a leadership consultant. What most people don’t know about me is that I learned at young age that to be taken seriously I needed to work twice as hard as my peers. This drove me to work hard and led to great success. At the very same time, it held me back from being bold – for fear of looking stupid or fear of being unable to compete. One, I'm not alone. Two, it doesn’t have to be this way.

I founded The Black Talent Pool because I was tired of hearing that Black leaders were underrepresented in leadership positions in American businesses because there is a "limited Black talent pool..." It's time to end that excuse once and for all. The mission of The Black Talent Pool is amplify and nurture Black leaders so that they are seen, heard, valued, promoted, and compensated accordingly in the workplace. We want Black leaders to have a seat and a voice at the table. Period.
